The ATHENA Trio was founded in
1997 and has performed on both coasts of the U.S.
Since 2001, ATHENA has consisted of lyric soprano
 Nanette McGuinness and pianist
Kathryn Cathcart, as well as the occasional guest artist or two. Recently mezzo-soprano Kindra Scharich has joined them on a regular basis.
Past programs have highlighted 19th and 20th century
French music, works by women composers,
and the complete cycle of Canteloube's Chants d’Auvergne.

The ensemble’s first CD, Fabulous Femmes (music
by women composers of the 19th and 20th century)
